As a key member of the Cyber Security function, you will lead significant initiatives designed to enhance compliance with international standards and government security policies. You will shape, uplift and optimise the organisation’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) and play a critical role in protecting sensitive information, strengthening governance, and reducing organisational risk.
About the Role
- Drive large‑scale cybersecurity improvement programs across the organisation
- Enhance and maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 27001, government security policies, and internal governance requirements
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, standards, frameworks and processes
- Provide expert advice on cyber governance, risk management, assurance, and compliance
- Lead cross‑functional working groups and engage with senior stakeholders
- Support executive decision‑making through clear reporting, metrics and security insights
- Contribute to the uplift of security culture and organisational cyber capability
- Extensive experience with ISO/IEC 27001 and ISMS implementation
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing security policies and processes
- Strong knowledge of cyber governance, risk management and compliance frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to cross‑functional security initiatives
- Certifications such as CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CISM, or similar
- Knowledge of IS18 or other state/federal government security policies
- Previous experience delivering large‑scale cybersecurity uplift programs
- Familiarity with GRC tools and security assurance processes
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field (Master’s desirable)
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in information security with a focus on compliance and governance
- Prior work within government or a highly regulated environment is highly advantageous
