About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Oracle Software Engineer. This is a long-term contract role (12 months initial contract) with extensions up to 24 months, located in Canberra, ACT (Hybrid working arrangement).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Oracle technologies
- Perform analysis, prototyping, development, testing, and maintenance activities
- Develop efficient PL/SQL code, stored procedures, and database solutions
- Deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions
- Undertake technical design for complex systems and integrations
- Manage releases, deployments, and production support activities
- Optimise database performance and ensure data integrity
- Work with tools such as APEX, SmartIQ (Intelledox), and Unix scripting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts and developers
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members
- Strong experience as a Senior Developer / Oracle Developer
- Proven expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development
- Experience with Oracle APEX, Forms, Reporting, and SmartIQ (Intelledox)
- Hands-on experience with Unix tools (Korn Shell, AWK scripting)
- Experience delivering solutions aligned with SFIA Level 4 capabilities
- Strong skills in software design, systems design, and integration
- Experience in release and deployment management
- Ability to develop, test, and maintain complex applications
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience working with geospatial data
- Exposure to application support and maintenance activities
- Experience working in Federal Government environments
- Familiarity with modern DevOps or automation practices
