About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Oracle Software Engineer.  This is a long-term contract role (12 months initial contract) with extensions up to 24 months, located in Canberra, ACT (Hybrid working arrangement).

As the selected candidate, you will:
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Oracle technologies
  • Perform analysis, prototyping, development, testing, and maintenance activities
  • Develop efficient PL/SQL code, stored procedures, and database solutions
  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions
  • Undertake technical design for complex systems and integrations
  • Manage releases, deployments, and production support activities
  • Optimise database performance and ensure data integrity
  • Work with tools such as APEX, SmartIQ (Intelledox), and Unix scripting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts and developers
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members
To be successful in this role you should have:
  • Strong experience as a Senior Developer / Oracle Developer
  • Proven expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development
  • Experience with Oracle APEX, Forms, Reporting, and SmartIQ (Intelledox)
  • Hands-on experience with Unix tools (Korn Shell, AWK scripting)
  • Experience delivering solutions aligned with SFIA Level 4 capabilities
  • Strong skills in software design, systems design, and integration
  • Experience in release and deployment management
  • Ability to develop, test, and maintain complex applications
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
It is desirable if you have:
  • Experience working with geospatial data
  • Exposure to application support and maintenance activities
  • Experience working in Federal Government environments
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps or automation practices
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
