About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Program Schedule Manager. This is a long-term contract role (12 months initial contract) with 2 x 12-month extension options, located at our client’s Canberra, ACT (Onsite – Majura Park).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using multiple data sources
- Translate complex acquisition and engineering activities into structured schedules
- Provide strategic scheduling advice and reporting to senior leadership
- Conduct critical path and schedule health analysis for program decision-making
- Manage dependencies and integration points across complex Defence programs
- Identify schedule risks, slippage, and mitigation strategies
- Maintain schedule data using tools such as Open Plan Professional
- Support governance through standardised scheduling practices and frameworks
- Engage with Defence, industry, and government stakeholders
- Provide mentoring and uplift scheduling capability within the team
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in program scheduling or program risk management
- Proven experience supporting complex Defence or large-scale capital programs
- Strong experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
- Demonstrated ability in schedule risk management and mitigation
- Experience using scheduling tools such as Open Plan Professional or similar
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with senior leadership
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Formal qualifications or certifications in project, program, or risk management
- Experience within the Australian Submarine Agency or Defence environment
- Knowledge of Defence program governance and acquisition frameworks
- Experience working in high-security or sensitive program environments
- Background in major infrastructure, engineering, or shipbuilding programs
