We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Network Security Architect to support a major Managed Services program delivering a large-scale network modernisation initiative.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a mission-critical program, shaping the design and security of complex enterprise and operational networks that directly impacts national infrastructure
You will work closely with the Chief Network Architect and cross-functional engineering teams to design, validate, and deliver secure, scalable network architectures from concept through to deployment and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-level and low-level network security architectures across enterprise and operational environments
- Design secure segmentation and traffic separation strategies for mission-critical systems
- Lead and support lab testing, validation, and design assurance activities
- Develop and execute transition strategies for migrating critical services
- Provide technical leadership across engineering, operations, and delivery teams
- Translate business and operational requirements into secure network designs
- Support site design artefacts including diagrams, rack layouts, and BoMs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure performance, security, and compliance requirements are met
- 8+ years’ experience in network architecture, security, and design
- Strong background in large-scale enterprise or carrier-grade networks
- Expertise across routing and network protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP)
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto or similar technologies
- Strong understanding of WAN/LAN, segmentation, and secure network design principles
- Experience working across full project lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience in aviation, Defence, or other mission-critical environments
- Knowledge of network automation and modern engineering practices
- Exposure to VoIP, DWDM, SIP, or telecommunications environments
- Experience with systems engineering methodologies or safety-critical programs
