A leading independent regulator is seeking a senior Data & AI Privacy & Ethics leader to drive privacy, AI governance, and ethical data practices across the organisation.
The Role
Lead the design and delivery of privacy, data protection, and AI ethics frameworks. You’ll ensure compliance with Victorian privacy laws, embed privacy-by-design, and guide secure, responsible data use across key digital initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility at executive level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead privacy, data governance & AI ethics strategy
- Drive Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) & risk frameworks
- Ensure compliance with Privacy & Data Protection Act (VIC)
- Embed privacy-by-design across AI and data initiatives
- Advise executives on privacy risks, controls & governance
- Partner with Legal, IT & stakeholders to strengthen data security
About You
- 5+ years in Privacy, Data Governance, or Risk/Compliance
- Strong knowledge of Victorian Privacy Principles
- Experience with PIAs, data breaches & compliance frameworks
- Exposure to AI ethics / responsible AI (highly desirable)
- Certifications (CIPM/CIPT) or Legal background – advantageous
