Seeking experience with Cloud Security, SIEM & Security Frameworks
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer for a 3‑month contract to support the security and resilience of PeopleWA, a key WA Government linked data asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update AWS security and architecture documentation
- Review and uplift business continuity and disaster recovery manuals
- Improve vulnerability prioritisation, reporting, and governance
- Support security monitoring, resilience, and forward‑looking patching planning
- Work closely with Data Engineers and security stakeholders
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience in cloud security, particularly AWS
- Expertise in vulnerability management, SIEM, access control, and endpoint security
- Knowledge of security frameworks (ASD ISM/IRAP, Essential Eight, NIST)
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
- Experience with Tenable, Microsoft Sentinel, Jira
- Security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, Security+)
- Government sector experience
