The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Designer to lead the design and delivery of enterprise infrastructure solutions across corporate, retail, and logistics environments.
This is a project-focused role working across on-prem and multi-cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), supporting major uplift initiatives across network, cloud, and security. You’ll sit between architecture and engineering, taking ownership of solution design, governance, and delivery outcomes.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Design, document, and support infrastructure solutions for new and existing projects, including cloud and security initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance to infrastructure engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support change management processes and participate in technical reviews and testing, including disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to validate architectures and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting within relevant systems such as JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • Assist in infrastructure asset management, risk mitigation, and forward-looking technology planning aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the infrastructure design and deployment processes.
To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Significant experience in enterprise infrastructure design, including Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, F5, and Fortinet technologies.
  • Strong understanding of VMware, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, databases, SaaS platforms, Windows, RHEL, IaaS, and PaaS environments.
  • Experience with cloud microservices (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid connectivity models.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-level and low-level infrastructure designs for on-premises and multi-cloud environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and external vendors.
  • Relevant certifications in multi-cloud platforms and a tertiary degree in IT or Engineering (desirable).
  • Ability to work autonomously, with robust analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
It is desirable if you have:

  • Certifications in cloud platforms and modern infrastructure architecture.
  • A strong interest in industry trends, cloud technologies, and emerging solutions such as containerisation, APIs, and micro-services.
  • Experience in working within Agile and Waterfall project methodologies, including relevant certifications.
