Banking — Financial Crime & AML

AI

Financial crime and AML transformation is the defining investment theme across our banking clients right now.

Regulatory pressure from AUSTRAC, combined with the reputational and financial consequences of non-compliance, is driving significant programs of work, spanning transaction monitoring uplift, customer due diligence (CDD) process redesign and the integration of AI-driven detection tools.

We are seeing strong demand for Financial Crime SMEs, AML Business Analysts, and technology specialists with experience across platforms such as NICE Actimize, Quantexa, and Oracle FCCM.

Superannuation

Super funds are navigating a dual mandate: meeting heightened operational risk and governance expectations (particularly under APRA's SPS 515 and the outcomes assessment regime), while simultaneously transforming member experience to remain competitive.

Digital uplift, personalised communications and retirement income strategy are front of mind, as is the ongoing pressure to demonstrate measurable outcomes for members.

We are supporting funds with resources across risk, compliance, digital product and data, with growing interest in specialists who can bridge regulatory and member-facing workstreams.

Insurance

Operational resilience, cyber security and compliance remain key priorities, with continued investment in CPS 230 and CPS 234 initiatives to strengthen resilience, third-party risk management, business continuity and cyber controls.

AI and automation are being adopted to streamline claims processing, enhance risk assessment, improve fraud detection and elevate customer experience.

Digital transformation remains a focus, with ongoing investment in platform modernisation, cloud migration and API integration.

In response to climate-related risks, insurers are investing in geospatial analytics, AI, advanced modelling and risk-pricing transformation to better predict and manage future exposures.

As a result, strongest hiring demand is concentrated in Cyber Security, Data & AI, Cloud & Platform Engineering, Risk & Compliance, and Transformation.
