About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking  Senior Full Stack Software Engineers (React, TypeScript, Go, AWS, Kubernetes). This is a long-term contract role for an  initial 12-month contract with 1 x 12-month extension option, with  hybrid working arrangements  available across  Canberra, Sydney, and Brisbane.

As the selected candidate, you will:
  • Design, develop and implement new systems, applications and integrations in line with industry best practices and enterprise architectural principles.
  • Build complex APIs and software solutions using  Go and JavaScript/TypeScript, applying architectural patterns including  REST and GraphQL.
  • Develop accessible, reusable applications using  React and TypeScript, including state management, API integration, troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Design and implement  CI/CD pipelines  and cloud infrastructure using  AWS  and Infrastructure as Code, particularly  Terraform.
  • Build containerised applications using  Docker  and deploy applications to  Kubernetes using Helm.
  • Work as a key member of an agile project team, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver viable, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews as both reviewer and reviewee to maintain coding quality and standards.
  • Ensure software solutions meet relevant  security and accessibility  requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with QA teams to implement a  shift-left approach  and ensure effective test coverage throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Document technical designs, development work and solutions.
  • Apply sound technical judgement to solve complex problems and deliver pragmatic, value-for-money solutions.

To be successful in this role you should have:
  • Demonstrated experience building complex APIs using  Go and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience implementing  REST and GraphQL  solutions.
  • Strong experience with  AWS cloud infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code, ideally using  Terraform.
  • Proven experience building and deploying  containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing accessible applications using  React and TypeScript, including reusable components, application state management, API integration and troubleshooting/debugging.
  • Strong DevOps experience, including creating  CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab  and working with tools such as  Artifactory and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards, particularly  WCAG 2.2 Level A.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve complex problems and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

It is desirable if you have:
  • Mobile application development experience using  React Native  or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with database deployment and administration, particularly  PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Experience across the full  Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including technical design, development, deployment, code reviews and ongoing maintenance.
  • Experience developing automated  unit, component, integration and functional tests, and working closely with QA teams on integration and end-to-end testing.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be  Australian citizens with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
