About the Role
 
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Manager to support a major compliance uplift initiative within Bendigo Bank.
 
You will provide regulatory compliance advisory support, interpret regulatory obligations, partner with business stakeholders, and assist in strengthening the Bank's Compliance Management Framework.
 
This role will play a key part in ensuring regulatory obligations are clearly understood, appropriately embedded into business processes, and supported by effective controls and governance arrangements.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret regulatory requirements, legislation, prudential standards, and internal policy obligations.
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Support obligations management activities, including documentation, assessment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development and uplift of the Compliance Management Framework.
  • Assist in enhancing compliance plans, policies, standards, and governance processes.
  • Partner with Line 1 Risk, Line 2 Compliance, and project teams to embed regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare high-quality documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications.
 
Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience in Regulatory Compliance, Compliance Advisory, Risk, Internal Audit, or External Audit within Banking or Financial Services.
  • Strong experience working in a Second Line of Defence (2LOD) Compliance or Risk function.
  • Regulatory obligations management experience, including interpreting legislation, regulations, and translating requirements into business obligations.
  • Compliance uplift, regulatory change, remediation, or transformation project experience.
  • Control design and control framework experience, including identifying gaps and supporting control enhancements.
  • Experience partnering with Line 1 and Risk stakeholders to provide compliance advice, challenge, and oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of Compliance Management Frameworks, Compliance Plans, and Non-Financial Risk (NFR) frameworks.
