About the Role Our Federal Government client is seeking an EL1 React AI Developer.
This is a long-term contract opportunity located in Canberra, ACT, with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Develop, test and maintain modern web applications using React, TypeScript and contemporary frontend engineering practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts, designers, architects and backend development teams to deliver high-quality user experiences and integrated digital solutions.
- Contribute to the development of accessible, secure and maintainable applications aligned with organisational standards and user needs.
- Utilise AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and delivery activities.
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities, CI/CD processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and enhancement of reusable components, design systems and shared frontend capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience developing modern web applications using React, TypeScript and contemporary frontend development practices.
- Strong technical knowledge of frontend engineering concepts, including component-based architecture, state management, API integration and responsive user interface development.
- Demonstrated experience delivering accessible digital services and applying accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Experience working with source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-assisted software engineering tools for development, testing, debugging, documentation and delivery outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience delivering applications using modern frontend ecosystems and tooling, including TypeScript, API-driven architectures, component libraries and cloud-native platforms.
- Experience working with specification-driven or AI-augmented software development approaches.
- Experience using agentic development tools and AI-assisted development workflows to improve software delivery and productivity.
- Experience working within government, regulated or highly governed environments.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
