We’re seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Infrastructure Architect to join a positive, dynamic and collaborative technology team, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure.
You’ll lead hands-on technical delivery of infrastructure projects within a predominantly Microsoft environment, working closely with project managers and business stakeholders to scope, design and deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions. This is not a pure architecture role. You’ll both own and deliver solutions, while collaborating with other technical team members to deliver broader infrastructure initiatives and help mature the organisation’s delivery and architecture practices.
Key responsibilities
• Own infrastructure solutions from requirements and design through to delivery
• Lead hands-on technical implementation of infrastructure projects
• Work with project managers and business stakeholders to scope solutions
• Develop technical designs, architecture documentation and implementation plans
• Provide technical leadership while collaborating with other technical teams
• Work across Microsoft infrastructure, Azure/hybrid environments and virtualisation
• Contribute to the maturity of infrastructure delivery and architecture practices
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, resilience and security
About you
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Technical Lead or Architect with:
• 8+ years’ infrastructure / systems engineering experience
• Strong Microsoft / Windows Server expertise
• Proven solution design and end-to-end delivery experience
• Financial Services experience, ideally within a regulated enterprise environment
• Azure and/or hybrid infrastructure experience
• Strong networking fundamentals and VMware / virtualisation experience
• Understanding of security, resilience, availability and disaster recovery
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
• A hands-on approach and willingness to own solutions through delivery
