This role opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Information Security Systems Engineer to join a secure, enterprise environment supporting critical infrastructure. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on the deployment, operation and support of network and security systems within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and support network and information security products and services
- Provide engineering support to network operations and engineering teams
- Perform lifecycle testing and operational support of security architectures
- Implement and maintain security access controls and configuration baselines
- Configure and support security infrastructure including:
- Firewalls, routers, switches and load balancers
- VPN technologies
- IDS / WAF solutions
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, analysis and remediation activities
- Administer security tools across SIEM, PAM and endpoint protection platforms
- Maintain technical security documentation in line with engineering standards
- Provide internal and customer‑facing technical support as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT Systems or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience in Network or Information Security Engineering
- Strong hands‑on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/WAF and enterprise security tooling
- Experience with vulnerability management and security monitoring tools
- 2+ years’ experience in a senior or technical leadership role
- Ability to translate security requirements and policies into technical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills
- Experience with ASD / NIST or similar security frameworks
- Experience in regulated or critical infrastructure environments
- Security certifications such as:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- CCNA
- CISSP
- Must be eligible to obtain Australian Defence NV1 security clearance
- Australian citizenship required
- Must be able to work 100% in office, no WFH flexibility
