Duration:  Initial 6 month ongoing contract

This role opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Information Security Systems Engineer to join a secure, enterprise environment supporting critical infrastructure. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on the deployment, operation and support of network and security systems within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Security Engineering support to deploy and maintain network security products and services
  • Support Network Operations and Engineering teams with testing and evaluation of security technologies
  • Perform lifecycle testing and operational support of security architectures
  • Manage enterprise access controls, configuration baselines and compliance requirements
  • Configure and maintain VPN technologies
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning, analysis and remediation activities
  • Support and administer security tools including Splunk, Rapid7, Nessus, Tanium, CyberArk, Imprivata, SentinelOne, Airlock Digital and related technologies
  • Develop and maintain technical security documentation
Essential Criteria
  • Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Systems or related field with a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in Network Security Engineering including specification, evaluation, testing, deployment and operation of security technologies such as Firewalls, Routers, Switches, IDS, WAF and VPN solutions
  • Minimum 2 years' experience leading technical teams, monitoring performance, conducting reviews and participating in recruitment activities
  • Experience with ASD Essential Eight, NIST and other security frameworks
  • Experience analysing security logs and event data
  • Experience managing enterprise configuration baselines
  • Security+, Network+, CCNA and/or CISSP certifications
Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance are essential.
