Payroll Testing Analysy Position

We are seeking a Payroll Project Officer / Payroll Tester to support the implementation of a new payroll system. This is a specialist project role focused on ensuring payroll calculations, configurations, and processes are accurately tested and validated before go-live.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Testing & UAT: Develop test scenarios, execute test scripts, and log defects
  • Parallel Runs: Conduct detailed analysis and comparison of pay outcomes between legacy systems and the new platform to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Data Validation: Map data from current pay structures to new system formats, identifying and resolving data integrity gaps.
  • Compliance: Ensure system configurations accurately reflect modern Awards and current Australian and NZ legislative requirements (e.g., PAYG, Superannuation, STP).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the liaison between the Payroll team, IT, People Team and system vendors to troubleshoot configuration errors
  • Documentation: Assist in developing user guides on processes and how to use the new system

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing for AU and/or NZ
  • Project Experience: Proven track record in supporting payroll system implementations, upgrades, or major integrations (e.g. ADP, Ramco, etc)
  • Testing Acumen: Understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including test script creation, execution, and defect logging.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced MS Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and high numerical aptitude for data reconciliation.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent stakeholder communication.
  • must have workday experience

6 month contract, based in Melbourne or Manila
