We are seeking an experienced OT Wireless Network Operations Specialist to support and optimise critical wireless communication networks within a large-scale mining environment.
This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing connectivity across operational technology systems that support production, fleet management, automation, and safety-critical operations.
About the Role: You will be responsible for the monitoring, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of OT wireless network infrastructure across multiple sites. Working closely with Operations, OT Engineering, IT teams, and vendors, you'll help deliver resilient and scalable network solutions that minimise downtime and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support OT wireless networks including Cisco Wi-Fi, Rajant Mesh, Cisco Switching, and Cambium radio systems.
- Proactively manage network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, BC Commander, cnMaestro, and WLC.
- Troubleshoot incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and support major incident management activities.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, maintenance, patching, and infrastructure improvements.
- Manage changes, incidents, and tasks through ServiceNow.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and asset records.
- Support cybersecurity compliance, audits, and OT governance requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and collaborate with site teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Travel to mining sites as required.
You'll bring:
- Experience with Cisco Wireless Networking, Rajant Breadcrumbs, Cisco Switching, and Cambium PtP/PtMP networks.
- Knowledge of wireless and microwave backhaul technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools including SolarWinds, BC Commander, Magnet, CCMS, cnMaestro, and WLC.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience using ServiceNow and/or SAP.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
