Our Federal Govenment client is looking for a Techninal Specialist (Junior Full Stack / Drupal Developer).
This is a long-term contract up to 31st Jan 2027 with 3x12-month extension option, located at our Client’s Melbourne and Sydney location.
Technical Skills
- Experience in full-stack web development using Node.js, PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML5 and CSS/SCSS.
- Experience developing and supporting Drupal/GovCMS, WordPress or other enterprise CMS platforms, including custom modules, plugins, themes and content management solutions.
- Experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs, JSON/XML integrations and third-party service integrations.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git-based source control practices.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Front Door, CDN, storage and monitoring services.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, release management and DevOps best practices.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL or SQL Server, and caching technologies such as Redis.
- Experience implementing and reporting on Google Analytics 4 (GA4), event tracking, conversion measurement and digital insights.
- Understanding of application security, secure coding practices, OWASP principles, authentication and authorisation frameworks.
- Exposure to containerisation and modern development tooling including Git, Docker and package management frameworks.
Functional Skills
- Design, develop, test, deploy and support secure, scalable and maintainable web applications and digital services.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, designers, architects and vendors to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Apply government digital standards, including WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility requirements, across all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Ensure solutions align with government security and compliance obligations, including privacy, information security and secure-by-design principles.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, support artefacts and knowledge base content.
- Participate in Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, peer reviews, testing and release management.
- Monitor application performance, analytics and user experience metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
- Manage application lifecycle activities including upgrades, vulnerability remediation, platform migrations and ongoing support.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Australian Government digital services, GovCMS and regulated environments.
- Knowledge of the Essential Eight, ISM and PSPF frameworks.
- Experience with headless CMS architectures, React front ends and API-first design.
- Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into software delivery practices.
