About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking an EL2 ICT Portfolio Manager.
This is a long-term contract role with initial 12 months and extensions , located in ACT.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Develop and maintain the ICT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with agency strategic goals and objectives.
- Prioritise and optimise resource allocation across projects and initiatives.
- Engage cross-functional teams to execute ICT programs and projects.
- Define and monitor program goals, scope and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets and risk management activities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and business units.
- Act as the key bridge between ICT and business stakeholders.
- Develop and implement governance structures and processes to ensure portfolio compliance.
- Monitor and report on project performance, status and key performance indicators.
- Manage cross-project dependencies and champion portfolio initiatives in governance forums.
- Communicate project and portfolio updates to executives, stakeholders and teams, including chairing high-level steering committees.
- Prepare executive briefs and portfolio performance reports.
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years' experience leading teams.
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years' experience as a senior Project or Program Manager.
- Experience working in Government or delivering services to Government agencies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives, vendors and delivery teams.
- Proven experience managing ICT portfolios, programs, governance, risks and budgets.
- Strong leadership capability with experience building, mentoring and leading high-performing teams.
- Project Management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or equivalent.
- Experience chairing executive-level governance forums and steering committees.
- Experience managing large and complex ICT transformation initiatives.
