A leading Australian retail organisation with a significant national footprint is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join its growing technology team.
This is a hands on role focused on designing, building and continuously improving DevOps and automation capabilities across a large scale enterprise environment. You will play a key role in enabling the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of technology solutions that support business critical operations across a distributed network.
What you will be doing
- Design, build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines across build, test, release and deployment processes
- Drive automation initiatives across cloud, infrastructure and application delivery environments
- Support Azure services including Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Service Bus and App Configuration
- Work across hybrid environments spanning Azure, edge infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker and Linux/Windows platforms
- Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python and Ansible
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams to improve deployment reliability, scalability and operational efficiency
- Support monitoring, platform maintenance, release management and production stability
- Champion secure by design and cloud first engineering practices
- 10+ years' experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Automation roles
- Strong Azure DevOps experience, including YAML pipelines, environments, approvals and release management
- Advanced scripting skills across PowerShell, Bash and Python
- Experience with Ansible/AWX and enterprise automation frameworks
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux administration
- Hands on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and containerised deployment models
- Experience in Kafka will be highly desirable!
- Azure cloud expertise and a strong understanding of security, governance and operational best practices
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments
