Melbourne CBD | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid (3-4 Days in Office)
We're seeking a senior consultant to review and optimise Power BI semantic models and help establish the foundations for enterprise AI adoption. This role sits at the intersection of data modelling, analytics and AI enablement, ensuring governed data can be effectively consumed by tools such as Copilot and other natural language AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct an independent review of existing Power BI semantic models, datasets and reporting architecture.
- Assess and optimise data models using best-practice dimensional modelling principles, including star and snowflake schemas.
- Improve semantic layer design, measures, relationships and data structures to support reporting accuracy, scalability and maintainability.
- Enable AI-driven analytics by preparing semantic models for natural language querying, automated insights and enterprise AI use cases.
- Provide recommendations, implementation support and knowledge transfer to business and technical stakeholders.
- Extensive experience with Power BI semantic modelling, dataset architecture and enterprise reporting environments.
- Strong expertise in dimensional modelling, DAX, semantic layer design and Power BI best practices.
- Experience designing data models that support AI, Copilot or natural language analytics capabilities.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience conducting independent technical reviews and providing strategic recommendations.
- Experience working with Azure-based data platforms and enterprise data governance frameworks will be highly regarded.
