About the Role We are seeking an experienced Workday Platform Lead to oversee the end‑to‑end management, optimisation, and governance of our Workday environment across HR, Payroll, and Finance. This role is perfect for a Workday expert who thrives in a dynamic, enterprise‑scale environment and enjoys leading platform strategy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
As the Workday Platform Lead, you will own configuration, performance, security, and functional operations of the tenant. You’ll partner with technology leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to ensure the platform is scalable, stable, and aligned with organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities Platform Management
- Lead the administration and operational management of the Workday platform across HR, Payroll, and Finance modules.
- Oversee system configuration, security architecture, and user access controls.
- Act as the primary liaison between business teams, implementation partners, technical teams, and external vendors.
- Manage Workday releases, feature adoption, regression testing, and environment strategy.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, performance, and compliance.
- Own system documentation, configuration logs, security audits, and change records.
- Support issue resolution and direct engagement with Workday Support as needed.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to Workday analysts or junior support staff.
- Contribute to platform governance, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive innovative approaches to process improvement, automation, and digital enablement.
- Encourage experimentation, iteration, and best‑practice adoption across the platform.
- Maintain a strong control environment aligned to enterprise risk frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal policies, regulatory requirements, and data governance standards.
- Conduct cyclical risk assessments, including material risk reviews and key risk indicators.
- Promote a culture of accountability and proactive incident management.
Decision Making
- Take ownership of platform‑related decisions within delegated authority.
- Empower others to make decisions close to the work while maintaining oversight and responsibility.
- Promote inclusive decision‑making and maintain accurate documentation of decisions.
- Extensive experience in Workday system administration or platform leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge across multiple Workday modules, ideally HR, Payroll, and Finance.
- Deep understanding of Workday security, roles, and access management.
- Experience with Workday integration tools such as EIB, Core Connectors, and Studio.
- Proven ability to manage Workday releases, updates, and complex configuration environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Workday certifications (e.g., Workday Pro) are highly desirable.
- Experience in large, complex enterprise environments preferred.
