The role:
Reporting to the Product Line Manager, this role takes full ownership of delivery and technical leadership for business-critical, Azure cloud-based applications supporting maintenance planning across Alcoa’s global operations. You will drive on-time delivery, manage risks proactively, and serve as the key bridge between development teams and business stakeholders – operating in a hybrid model aligned to Australian business hours.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Take full ownership of delivery and provide hands-on technical leadership for globally deployed Reliability Excellence applications
  • Act as the primary point of technical escalation, resolving developer blockers, guiding solution design, and enforcing development standards
  • Actively track progress at an individual developer level, follow up rigorously on assigned work, and ensure delivery remains on track at all times
  • Serve as the key bridge between development teams and business stakeholders, providing clear and proactive communication on progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, drive alignment across teams, and ensure timely contributions from all stakeholders in a global delivery environment
  • Drive Agile execution, ensure clarity of requirements, and hold the team accountable to delivery commitments
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance delivery efficiency, predictability, and overall team performance
  • Ensure application stability and reliability by proactively addressing production issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute hands-on to critical or complex development activities when required to maintain delivery momentum
 
Key experience:
  • Strong hands-on experience in C#, .NET, and SQL Server
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure cloud solutions and services
  • Solid knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage development teams in a complex, global delivery environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to provide clear and proactive delivery updates
 
Desirable experience:
  • Exposure to Reliability, Engineering, or Maintenance-related systems or domains
  • Experience working in global, distributed team environments with cross-time-zone collaboration
  • Background in mining, resources, or heavy industry enterprise software
