We’re seeking an experienced Solution Designer / Epic Solution Engineer with recent Tier‑1 banking experience to lead the technical design of a major Connex Epic within a large, highly governed payments environment.
This role requires prior experience working within a major Australian bank, with deep familiarity of internal Engineering Processes, standards, and guardrails. Strong exposure to Connex and large‑scale payments or transaction platforms is essential.
What you’ll do
- Act as Epic Solution Engineer, owning end‑to‑end technical design
- Lead overarching solution design across ~15 integrated assets
- Collaborate closely with Engineers and Product Owners to shape and prioritise Features and Stories
- Drive the simplest effective solution while meeting performance, resilience, security, and architectural standards
- Support consistent delivery of features into Release Trains
- Connex: long‑standing core platform with significant legacy components
- Multiple technologies and external integrations
- Focus on Epic‑level design leadership, not single‑asset ownership
- Mandatory: Previous experience within a Tier‑1 banking environment
- Strong background in payments and transaction systems
- Proven experience as a Solution Designer, Technical Lead, or Epic‑level engineer
- Comfortable operating in complex, regulated, legacy‑heavy platforms
