Melbourne | 6 month Contract Role | Long-Term Program
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a major project
Working alongside the Chief Systems Engineer and a collaborative engineering team, you will support the design and delivery of complex integrated systems from requirements through to testing and deployment.
This role is ideal for a Systems Engineer with experience in Defence, Government, telecommunications or large infrastructure environments.
The Role
- Support the development of system designs and technical solutions
- Translate customer requirements into system specifications
- Manage and document system requirements and traceability
- Support system architecture and design documentation
- Contribute to design reviews and technical documentation
- Support system verification and acceptance activities
- Work across the full systems engineering lifecycle
- Collaborate with network, engineering and project teams
- Experience working as a Systems Engineer on complex technical projects
- Background in Defence, Government, telecommunications or infrastructure projects
- Experience with requirements management and documentation
- Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle or V-Model
- Knowledge of IP networking (WAN/LAN)
- Experience participating in design reviews and test activities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
- Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or related discipline
- Approximately 8–10+ years relevant experience
- Understanding of structured engineering environments
- Experience with DOORS or similar requirements tools highly regarded
- Experience working on Defence or mission-critical systems
- Experience with system integration projects
- Experience working in aviation or regulated environments
- Experience with safety or security-focused systems
