The role:
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing the backend platform that enables AI models to function reliably in operational settings. You’ll work on core services that run continuously, integrate multiple system components, and support mission‑critical workflows.
This role offers significant technical ownership, exposure to complex systems, and the opportunity to see your work directly influence physical operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend services using C# and Python
- Build and maintain platforms that integrate machine learning models into production systems
- Support model training, inference, and simulation workflows
- Design and maintain APIs and service integrations
- Ensure systems meet high standards for reliability, scalability, and observability
- Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering best practices
- Support deployment into live operational environments
- Strong experience building backend systems using C# and/or Python
- Proven ability to deliver APIs, services, or distributed systems in production
- Solid understanding of system design and service‑to‑service communication
- Experience building software with an emphasis on robustness and operational readiness
- Comfortable contributing beyond day‑to‑day coding, including design and technical direction
- Exposure to machine learning platforms, inference systems, or data pipelines
- Experience with event‑driven or message‑based architectures
- Docker and Kubernetes experience
- Working alongside performance‑critical or low‑latency systems
- Background in mining, industrial, or operational technology environments
- Work on a greenfield AI platform deployed into real-world operations
- High level of technical ownership and autonomy
- Collaboration with experienced engineers and data scientists
