They are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Security Systems Engineer to support national security operations in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time, onsite role that offers an exciting opportunity to lead a small security team in developing and managing extensive network security infrastructure. The position is permanent and based entirely onsite, supporting critical security functions within a dynamic environment.
Required Skills:
- Security Engineering support to build-out and deploy network security products and services to achieve program and client milestones
- Provide engineering support to Network Operations and Network Engineering for the testing and evaluation of new Security products and services
- Perform lifecycle testing and operational support on security architectures to maintain compliance with client-tailored security controls
- Perform enterprise security access control, baseline configuration management, and system performance testing to ensure compliance to requirements
- Manage and maintain enterprise configuration and provide internal and external (client) technical support for the following major systems:
- Configuring and maintaining Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
- Managing and/or conducting network scanning and analysis of vulnerabilities and mitigation plan
- Experience with SIEM, PAM, Endpoint protection, and other network scanning applications / tools including Splunk, Logzilla, Rapid7, Nesus, Tanium, CyberArc, Imprivata, Cisco Endpoint Protection, Airlock Digital, SentinelOne, Symantex, etc
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of virtualizations, load balancing, and adv
- Certifications like CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, CISSP.
- Previous experience working with Airservices Australia or similar government/defense entities.
- Familiarity with cloud security solutions and application security practices.
- Experience with Australian Defence security clearance processes.
- SOC Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 6+ years in network security roles
- Prior experience in telecommunications or government sectors is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Defence security clearance at NV1 level.
- This position is performed 100% onsite in Melbourne.
- Flexibility to work various shifts if required.
