Our client is a high growth Australian technology company transforming how food is produced across the globe. Headquartered in Sydney with teams across Australia and the US, they partner with some of the world’s most recognised food brands.
Using cutting edge computer vision and AI, the business helps customers improve safety, quality and operational efficiency within processing plants, whilst also offering food and product traceability solutions. They are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the next phase of the platform and engineering capability.
The opportunity
This is a genuinely high impact role for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, designing scalable systems and owning delivery from concept through to production. You will work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand requirements, architect solutions, build features and deploy them into production. This is not a role for someone who simply picks up tickets. You will be trusted to think critically, challenge assumptions, make technical decisions and drive outcomes.

Key responsibilities
• Own features end to end from requirements gathering through to design, build, testing and deployment
• Design and implement cloud native solutions across Azure
• Build clean, maintainable and production grade software using C# and .NET Core
• Develop microservices and ASP.NET Web APIs
• Work across Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, App Services, AKS, Key Vault and Azure DevOps pipelines
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose scalable, robust solutions
• Mentor peers through code reviews and technical collaboration
• Work closely with QA to ensure strong testing, observability and release quality
• Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies and help keep delivery on track
• Respond to production incidents with urgency, ownership and transparency
What you will bring
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with C# and .NET Core
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Azure and its core services
• Experience with AKS, Azure DevOps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions and App Services
• Proven experience building microservices, REST APIs and event driven architectures
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles, clean architecture and design patterns
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices
AI assisted engineering mindset
• Comfortable using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and OpenAI Codex as part of your day-to-day workflow
• Able to critically assess AI generated code and refine it appropriately
• Interested in how AI is reshaping software engineering and motivated to stay ahead of the curve
Ownership and communication
• Able to work with ambiguity and define clear technical solutions
• Comfortable making technical trade-offs and explaining them clearly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Mandarin Speakers will be an advantage
• Proactive in escalating blockers and keeping stakeholders informed
