Our client is seeking Senior (EL1 equivalent) Microsoft 365 Developer professional for a Canberra-based hybrid contract starting 1 October 2026, initially for 12 months with extension options up to an additional 24 months. Candidates must hold  NV1 security clearance and work onsite as required by the client.


As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Design and build SharePoint Online sites, pages, and hub site structures aligned to agency information architecture requirements.
  • Develop SPFx (SharePoint Framework) web parts, extensions, and application customisers using React and TypeScript.
  • Configure content types, managed metadata, term stores, and site columns to support enterprise content management.
  • Develop Microsoft Teams applications - tabs, messaging extensions, and connectors - using the Teams Toolkit and Bot Framework SDK.
  • Build and deploy Teams bots using Azure Bot Service and Microsoft Copilot Studio for automated notification and service request scenarios.
  • Administer Exchange Online: mailbox management, mail flow rules, connectors, and anti-spam/anti-phishing policies.
  • Administer Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Endpoint - policies, alert triage, and threat investigation.
  • Configure Microsoft Purview: sensitivity labels, DLP policies, retention labels, communication compliance, and eDiscovery.
  • Deploy and manage Microsoft Syntex - document processing models, content assembly, and SharePoint Embedded integration.
  • Develop Microsoft Graph API solutions for user management, calendar, mail, Teams, and SharePoint automation.
  • Build and maintain PowerShell scripts for M365 administration, bulk provisioning, and reporting automation.
  • Apply and maintain Essential Eight maturity controls across the M365 tenant: application hardening, macro settings, MFA, and patching.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for M365 platform incidents; triage, diagnose, and resolve issues across the tenant.
  • Coach and mentor team members; liaise with Senior Executive Officers on complex M365 platform delivery matters.
To be successful in this role you should have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 development and administration across SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, and Entra ID.
  • SharePoint Online development: SPFx (React + TypeScript), content types, term stores, site designs, and PnP provisioning tooling
  • Microsoft Teams app development: Teams Toolkit, Bot Framework SDK, Adaptive Cards, and messaging extensions
  • Microsoft 365 security stack: Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR), and Microsoft Purview
  • Microsoft Graph API development: REST API consumption, SDK usage (PowerShell or C#/TypeScript), and app registration management
  • Entra ID (Azure AD) administration: conditional access, MFA, PIM, app registrations, and identity governance

It is desirable if you have:
  • Microsoft 365 certifications: MS-102 (Administrator Expert), MS-500 (Security Administrator), or SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst)
  • Microsoft Syntex: document processing model training and content assembly configuration
  • Microsoft Viva suite administration: Viva Connections, Viva Insights, and Viva Learnin
  • Azure Functions or Logic Apps for M365-adjacent integration scenarios
