About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (EL2 equivalent). This is a long-term contract role for an initial 12 months, with 1 x 12-month extension option, located at our client’s offices across QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, or TAS, with hybrid working arrangements (minimum 3 days onsite per week).
As the selected candidate, you will:
• Provide technical advice and direction as an application security SME
• Assist in the design, development and compliance of applications and AWS platforms
• Support architecture and development of CI/CD pipelines
• Work with Cyber Security teams and Product Owners to align security and business objectives
• Provide advice and support across OCIO programs, implementations and BAU activities
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, engaging stakeholders as required
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership within Platforms & Integration
• Collaborate with Identity & Access Management teams
• Integrate monitoring and compliance tools across AWS environments
• Contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture aligned with Agency values
To be successful in this role you should have:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Kubernetes Administrator / DevOps Engineer with hands-on AWS automation experience
• Demonstrated experience implementing RBAC in AWS
• Strong experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end delivery
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes-based applications
• Experience integrating third-party identity providers with AWS
• Willingness to learn SAS DevOps on the job
It is desirable if you have:
• Knowledge of SAS Viya
• Passion for accessible design & development and maintaining technical documentation
• Experience developing REST APIs using Go, NodeJS, AngularJS, Typescript, or Python within Agile environments
• Experience monitoring AWS components using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and Splunk
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens
with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1)
security clearance.
