About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Automation Tester.
This is a long-term
contract role from 31 March 2026 to 30 June 2027
with 1 x 12-month extension option, located in Canberra, ACT. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite in the Canberra office 3 days per week, with remaining days remote (subject to approval).
As the selected candidate, you will:
• Work closely within project test teams to develop test plans and execute and report against them in collaboration with business stakeholders and development teams.
• Perform automation and API testing for systems and applications under sustainment/BAU support.
• Develop and maintain automated test playbooks, scenarios and scripts aligned to the testing framework.
• Undertake functional, integration and regression testing for each Program Increment (PI).
• Engage with multiple Agile delivery teams to understand release scope and estimate testing effort.
• Report, track and assist in triaging defects, including retesting of fixes.
• Develop reporting dashboards and produce Test Summary Reports (TSRs).
• Contribute to the development and implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Liaise with vendors, business areas and IT teams as required.
• Provide advice on automation testing tools and best practices.
To be successful in this role you should have:
• Demonstrated experience in test processes, including preparation, execution and reporting.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with .Net Framework
and Azure DevOps.
• Experience working within a team of Automation Specialists.
• Demonstrated experience working in a DevOps – Agile delivery environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multiple development teams and manage changing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience supporting ICT project development and implementation in remote team environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute to a positive team culture.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across IT and business areas.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities, priorities, dependencies and risks.
• Demonstrated ability to independently determine practical and creative testing approaches.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience building and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
It is desirable if you have:
• Demonstrated experience with one or more automation testing tools including Selenium, Postman
and Swagger.
• Experience with C#, MS SQL, RestSharp and JavaScript.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens
with an active
Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1)
security clearance.
