Whilst this role is an initial 12 months, there is a strong change of further work as it’s a multi-year program.
In this newly created Agile Delivery Manager role, you will support the implementation, usage and ongoing management of a brand-new business critical system, in its first stages of its multiyear iterative design, build and implementation.
Working closely and in a collaborative manner with a range technical delivery functions including developers, business/technical analysts, data specialists, testers and project delivery stream leads this role be responsible for the creating and managing comprehensive project plans, project registers (e.g. RAID) and facilitating, monitoring and reporting on the project team’s delivery against the project schedule.
Overseeing the delivery across the full software development lifecycle (from planning to release), including creating the conditions for effective system delivery and ensuring the project team has the resources when required to enable them to succeed.
As our Senior Delivery Manager with a DevOps focus, you will be the catalyst that brings agile delivery and DevOps excellence together. You will not only guide squads through agile ceremonies but also help establish, configure, and optimise our DevOps tool and practices. Your work will directly establish the delivery processes and practises and create a culture of shared ownership between developers, testers, and operations.
Key Skills and Experience
- 5+ years’ experience as an IT Delivery Manager and/or Project Manager, working at a senior level.
- Lead the establishment and configuration of DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code and managing Agile tools, processes and practice aligned to industry good practise and the requirements of the project.
- Lead agile ceremonies(daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to keep delivery on track and teams aligned and ensure that these meetings are productive and that all team members have a voice.
- Develop a clear and realistic detailed project delivery plan and then manage execution against the plan, helping to coordinate the various delivery functions to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
- Manage dependencies and identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team's progress. This would involve working proactively to identify, record and resolve issues that may delay project timelines or affect team morale.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to manage the product backlog, ensuring that the team understands the priorities and requirements for upcoming sprints.
- Experience in facilitating and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams/squads.
- Perform release planning and coordinate deployments.
- Proficiency in using tools such as JIRA, Trello, or MS Project allows the Scrum Master to efficiently manage, track and report project progress, monitor team productivity, and ensure effective collaboration among team members.
- Ability and willingness to work at a rapid pace in an environment with no existing system(s) and evolving policy, processes and requirements.
- Experience working on projects with varying technologies, preferably with Microsoft solutions and systems with complex data mastery.
