About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead and embed effective agile delivery practices within a large, complex organisation. This role is focused on facilitating delivery, enabling teams, removing impediments, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

You will work closely with delivery teams, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure work is well‑planned, prioritised, and delivered through sprint‑based execution. The role applies a blend of Agile/Scrum practices and PRINCE2 project governance, ensuring flexibility while maintaining delivery discipline.

This is a hands‑off technical role – success is measured by team delivery performance, flow, and maturity, not by writing code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, document, and gain agreement on an Agile Delivery Framework, including tools, practices, and processes.
  • Lead and facilitate Scrum and Agile ceremonies including stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Optimise sprint delivery and drive continuous improvement across teams.
  • Coach teams and individuals in Agile and Scrum principles to improve delivery capability and maturity.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to:
    • Manage and prioritise product backlogs
    • Refine user stories
    • Support estimation and sprint planning
  • Identify, manage, and help remove delivery impediments and blockers.
  • Support teams in dealing with ambiguity, changing requirements, and complex delivery challenges.
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication across delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Track delivery progress and support reporting against agreed outcomes and KPIs.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Skills and Experience (Mandatory)
  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Lead in a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor teams to adopt agile ways of working.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience identifying and resolving delivery issues, risks, and impediments.
  • Practical understanding of software development and release processes.
  • Extensive experience using Jira and Confluence.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience working across both public and private sector environments.
  • Exposure to PRINCE2 or similar project governance frameworks.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project.
