About the Role:
The Senior Telecommunications OT Engineer holds end-to-end responsibility for managing complex design and evaluation programs, including the validation of telecommunications equipment and systems. The role oversees project delivery elements such as planning, budgeting, and strategic development, ensuring technical outcomes align with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term operational strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the research, development, implementation, and ongoing review of work packages to optimise both commercial and technical performance
- Provide strategic support to management in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of expenditure programs across the Energy Network
- Lead structured and comprehensive technical evaluations, contributing expert input into the design and delivery of Telecommunications Operational Technology (OT) network programs
- Research, develop, and recommend technical and business improvement initiatives, supporting the strategic implementation of solutions to monitor and enhance OT network performance
- Conduct detailed fault analysis for complex incidents, implementing effective resolutions or workarounds to ensure agreed service levels are consistently achieved
- Analyse statistical data and historical performance information to produce detailed management reports, including recommendations for system enhancements and performance improvements
Skills and Experience:
- Proven professional experience in a comparable engineering role within utilities, asset management, or engineering-focused organisations
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of telecommunications design philosophies, standards, and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and technical expertise to manage activities during both planned and unplanned events, delivering effective solutions to complex engineering issues
- Strong understanding of Operational Technology (OT) network security principles, including the establishment and maintenance of controls to mitigate security risks across OT environments
