About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Objectstar Software Engineer (Developer) 
This is a long-term contract role with initial contract duration to be confirmed, with extension options, located in ACT, VIC or SA (capital cities only) with a hybrid working arrangement.

As the selected candidate, you will:
  • Design and develop software solutions and technical designs for complex systems
  • Develop high-quality, optimised code and maintain long-term product code bases
  • Provide technical advice on software development, maintenance and improvements
  • Deliver go-live support and ongoing maintenance for complex applications
  • Perform analysis, design, development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities
  • Analyse technical requirements and contribute to solution design and project evaluation
  • Ensure compliance with software development methodologies and security standards
  • Identify, investigate and resolve complex ICT issues across environments
  • Assess and manage risks, ensuring timely delivery against business objectives
  • Collaborate with architects, scrum masters, product owners, analysts and testers
To be successful in this role you should have:
  • Experience at APS6 equivalent level in software development or systems analysis
  • Strong experience in Objectstar Development
  • Solid knowledge of COBOL and JCL
  • Proven ability to design, develop, test and maintain complex software systems
  • Experience working within structured SDLC environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues
  • Ability to manage workloads and deliver within deadlines
It is desirable if you have
  • Understanding of government security standards and cyber security policies
  • Experience working in Agile project teams
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring development teams
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance.
