About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking multiple Senior Cyber Advisors (APS6 equivalent) and Lead Cyber Advisors (EL1 equivalent) to support critical cyber security initiatives for the client. These are long-term contract roles with an initial 12-month contract, plus two 12-month extension options, located across ACT, QLD and VIC, working onsite. Working arrangements are subject to operational requirements, and due to the nature of the client's work, work-from-home options may be limited.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Provide expert cyber and information security advice across programs and projects
- Perform certification and/or validation of systems to support security accreditation
- Produce high-quality cyber security reporting, policy, standards and guidance
- Conduct research and analysis to identify cyber security vulnerabilities and emerging threats
- Assess information and cyber security practices to ensure compliance with legislation, policies and standards
- Support incident response, security investigations and mitigation strategies
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across technical and business areas
- Contribute to continuous improvement of organisational security posture
- (Lead roles) Mentor team members, allocate resources and influence strategic outcomes
- Experience drafting, reviewing or contributing to cyber or information security strategies, policies or standards
- Demonstrated involvement in cyber security or information security research and analysis
- Experience planning and/or conducting vulnerability assessments, risk assessments or security assessments
- Ability to recognise, report and remediate non-compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Experience analysing cyber security incidents, threats or breaches and recommending mitigation strategies
- Strong ability to translate complex cyber security information into clear, business-level reporting
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills in a complex government or enterprise environment
- Experience with the Australian Government Essential Eight maturity model
- Certification as an IRAP Assessor
- Experience working within Defence, Intelligence or other high-security government environments
- Current NV2 or TSPV security clearance
