About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Lead Network Architect / Technology Architect / Technical Lead – Network Infrastructure. This is a 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options, located at our client's Canberra (ACT) office with hybrid working arrangements. There is a strong preference for candidates who can work onsite up to 3 days per week; however , flexibility may be considered with monthly office attendance or as otherwise agreed.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of enterprise network infrastructure refresh activities across multiple sites.
- Provide technical leadership and design assurance for wired and wireless network solutions.
- Oversee deployment sequencing, pilot implementations, site rollouts and legacy infrastructure decommissioning.
- Provide technical assurance of vendor designs, proposals and change requests.
- Coordinate service partners, cabling vendors, electrical contractors and specialist infrastructure providers.
- Develop technical procurement documentation and support Commonwealth procurement activities aligned with PGPA requirements.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, government agencies and external organisations to support delivery outcomes.
- Identify and manage technical risks, resolve complex issues and ensure governance compliance throughout project delivery.
- Contribute to client's long-term network strategy, operational resilience and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
- Proven experience leading complex network infrastructure programs within secure or mission-critical environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in network design assurance, deployment sequencing and multi-site infrastructure delivery.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise wired and wireless networking technologies, switching standards and physical infrastructure requirements.
- Experience developing technical procurement documentation and supporting PGPA-aligned approvals.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across government and operational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project risks, resolve technical issues and maintain delivery momentum.
- Experience coordinating service partners, cabling vendors and specialist contractors.
- Familiarity with Commonwealth ICT governance, assurance and change control frameworks.
- Experience with Aruba, Cisco or equivalent enterprise networking platforms.
- Previous experience supporting multi-agency infrastructure negotiations and shared operational environments.
