About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Lead Digital Forensic Investigator. This is a long-term 12-month contract role with 2 x 12-month extension options, located at our client’s Canberra office with 5 days onsite.

As the selected candidate, you will:
• Lead and conduct in-depth digital forensic investigations across government devices, systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Perform forensic evidence collection while maintaining the integrity and chain of custody of digital evidence.
• Analyse forensic data and provide detailed investigation reports with actionable recommendations.
• Support knowledge sharing within the team, including developing SOPs and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership on the forensic tooling suite, ensuring tools are maintained, patched, and up to date.

To be successful in this role you should have:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Digital Forensic Investigator.
• Demonstrated experience leading, planning, and executing digital forensic investigations.
• Strong hands-on experience using digital forensic tools and methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Strong written communication skills and experience producing technical reports and documentation.

It is desirable if you have:
• Experience working in a client-facing or stakeholder environment with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple investigations and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with industry-recognised forensic tools such as Autopsy, Cellebrite, Volatility, FTK Suite, or Wireshark.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or cybersecurity/forensics certifications.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
