We are seeking a Senior/Lead Data Engineer
with strong expertise in API development and management
to enable seamless and secure data exchange across internal and external systems. The successful candidate will be working in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs for enterprise data access and integration.
• Integrate and manage external APIs to ingest third-party data into internal systems.
• Oversee API gateways, authentication, authorization, and access controls to ensure secure data exchange.
• Lead technical design discussions and implement scalable data and API architecture aligned with best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to establish standards for data engineering, CI/CD, testing, and performance.
Required Skills
• 5-7+ years of professional experience in Senior/ Lead Data Engineering or related fields
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks (e.g. PySpark, Spark, Hadoop)
• Proven experience building and managing APIs (REST), including authentication (OAuth2, JWT) and API gateway management
• Prior exposure to data security and compliance frameworks
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of DevOps practices for CI/CD in data pipelines
• Demonstrated skills in leading a team
Due to security clearance requirement for this role, candidate must be Australian Citizen
with Minimum Baseline Clearance
or Higher.
