About the Role
Our Federal Government Client is seeking an Integration Engineer. This is a long-term contract role with an initial 10-month duration and 1 x 6-month extension option, located at our client’s Harman, ACT site (onsite).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Design, implement, manage and support simulation-based integrated infrastructure solutions
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure performance and compliance
- Support virtualised server environments across Windows/Linux, VMware, storage, and backup systems
- Integrate legacy systems with modern platforms while minimising downtime
- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
- Produce technical documentation, integration plans, and SOPs
- Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver outcomes
- Experience integrating simulation training environments using RTI, HLA, and DIS tools
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in ICT infrastructure or network engineering with strong system integration focus
- Proficiency configuring Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (ASA, Firepower)
- Strong understanding of ICT security, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure network design
- Experience with Windows/Linux server infrastructure and virtualisation platforms
- Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
- Cisco CCNA certification
- Experience in government or defence ICT environments
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and change management
- Database exposure (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Cisco CCNP certification
- Azure Administrator or Security certifications
