Role Purpose
 
The role of a Senior QA and Business Analyst
  • Is responsible for gathering and analysing business and technical requirements through stakeholder interviews, research, and data analysis to define problems, solution scopes, and both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • is responsible for ensuring the quality of software products by applying testing principles throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Is responsible for creating and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to improve product quality.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and oversee test plans, test scripts, and perform regression and system testing to validate the configured solutions.  
  • Implement quality assurance and testing services to ensure that all information systems, products, and services meet the organisation's standards and end-user requirements against each release cycle.
  • Conduct a high level functional and regression testing and oversee the testing lifecycle to ensure the integrity and reliability of the various platforms. This includes core business, integration, data, IT service management and customer service platforms.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues or bugs identified.
  • Experience working with Public Cloud (AWS), MuleSoft, Kafka, Snowflake ,Tableau ,Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, ServiceNow and any similar cloud-based solutions.  
  • Oversee and conduct the regression test suite for the various platforms within T&D space, including performance testing.
  • Knowledge and experience in Karate framework and Gatling tool is desirable.
  • Additional responsibilities as required to support the overall success of the team and organisation
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse business and technical requirements, understanding their needs and translating them into problem definitions, solution scopes, and both functional and non-functional requirements. 
  • Conduct workshops and interviews to elicit requirements, document use cases and processes, document technical specifications, and identify gaps or areas for improvement.  
  • Offer suggestions and recommendations during all phases of the engagement to ensure the intent of business requirements is understood by all stakeholders.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers and engineers to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. 
  • Create detailed product requirements, user stories, and specifications. 
  • Participate in the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch especially the mapping of requirements to the testing cycle.
  • Uphold the department’s commitment to Treaty and Self-Determination by supporting organisational activities in preparedness, response, and recovery to be culturally safe, community aligned, and supportive of Aboriginal decision-making and Aboriginal-led outcomes. This includes respecting the cultural rights and roles of Traditional Owners to care for and protect Country.
 
Key Selection Criteria
Technical Expertise
  • Proven experience in executing complex testing campaigns, displaying a strong understanding of SQA methodologies and strong knowledge in the above technologies 
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in Agile environments is strongly desired. 
  • Strong structured testing knowledge and thorough understanding of performance testing and desirable knowledge in penetration testing on Platforms and applications.
  • Great attention to detail and ability to identify, isolate and document defects in complex software features 
  • Customer focused – Seeks to understand client’s business requirements and provides input to serve the client. 
  • Experience in software deployments 
  • Strong analytical, good verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, and influencing skills 
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analysing data, transcribing/typing, viewing a computer, and extensive reading.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering (Electrical), or equivalent.
