About the Role
Our Federal Government client is seeking an  Application Support Analyst  to join a high-performing managed services team supporting client-critical business applications.

This is a  permanent role  based in  ACT, with a  hybrid working arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH).

Application Support Services are responsible for operating, running, and supporting applications across Production, and where required, DevTest and Pre-Production environments. You will work closely with client application teams to resolve incidents, identify root causes, and restore services efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

As the selected candidate, you will:
  • Provide end-to-end application support across critical business systems in Production environments
  • Act as a subject matter expert for supported applications and integration platforms
  • Perform incident, problem, and root cause analysis to restore services and prevent recurrence
  • Support Integration and API-based production environments using IBM MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise, and IBM WBI Message Broker technologies
  • Monitor application and infrastructure performance using available monitoring tools and dashboards
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support activities as required
  • Contribute to release and deployment management activities
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Mentor and support junior team members through coaching and knowledge sharing
  • Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement
  • Adhere to client IT delivery standards, processes, and governance frameworks
To be successful in this role you should have:
  • Proven experience in  Integration / API-based Production Support
  • Strong hands-on experience with  IBM MQIBM App Connect Enterprise, and  IBM WBI Message Broker
  • Solid understanding of configuration management and integration technologies
  • Experience supporting on-premises and cloud-hosted environments
  • Knowledge of data integration mechanisms such as MQ, REST, and API-based services
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced support environment
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Australian citizenship with eligibility to obtain or hold a security clearance
It is desirable if you have:
  • Exposure to  AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
  • Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Infrastructure Event Management and IT Infrastructure Operations
  • Ability to develop prototypes or proof-of-concept solutions
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior resources
Security Clearance Requirement
Due to the secure nature of this role, candidates must be  Australian Citizens  with an  active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

On-call and Shift Expectations
This role supports managed services and requires flexibility. You may be required to participate in shift-based work, on-call rotations, and after-hours deployment or incident response activities to ensure continuous service delivery and client satisfaction.
