About the Role:
Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced DevOps OpenShift Software Engineer (Developer).
This is a long-term contract role with an initial contract of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extensions, located in ACT, QLD, or VIC, with hybrid working arrangements(initial 6 weeks full-time onsite, then minimum 3 days per week onsite).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Design, develop, test, support and maintain software across the SDLC
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application teams
- Embed DevOps best practices across delivery lifecycles
- Monitor system performance, availability and workloads
- Define and document software and technical designs for complex solutions
- Provide go-live support and ongoing maintenance
- Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure and stakeholder teams
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Experience as a Software Engineer / DevOps Engineer at APS6 equivalent level
- Strong experience with CI/CD tooling and Git-based version control
- Proven ability to design and maintain automated deployment pipelines
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes and Red Hat environments
- Experience using Jenkins and/or GitLab
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
It is desirable if you have:
- Red Hat or Kubernetes certification
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments
- Application support and production issue resolution experience
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
