About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a DevOps Engineer.
This is a long‑term contract role for 12 months with 2x12‑month extension options, located in Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane, with hybrid working arrangements.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Build and maintain automated pipelines for continuous integration, testing, delivery and deployment of software.
- Provision, configure and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Ansible).
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Manage code branches and packaging using Git, NuGet and related technologies.
- Write and review automation scripts and application code to improve system efficiency.
- Integrate security considerations and automated security testing across the development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Identify and resolve technical issues, debug errors and design procedures for system maintenance.
- Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation for internal teams and external users.
- Review and respond to security findings (Tenable, Fortify, AWS Security Hub).
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Proficiency in launching, configuring and managing AWS EC2 instances.
- Experience setting up and configuring load balancers.
- Strong experience writing IaC templates for automated provisioning.
- Scripting experience (Python, AWS CLI, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with AWS services including CloudWatch, Lambda, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy and CodeCommit.
- Windows and Linux (RHEL preferred) administration experience.
It is desirable if you have:
- Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience implementing auto‑scaling groups.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with an exsiting Baseline security clearance.
