This is a 6-month contract opportunity based in the Adelaide CBD and is open to interstate candidates.
What you will do
- Design and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including data models, data warehouses, lakes, and pipelines.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive data roadmap aligned with company strategies.
- Establish and oversee data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and integrity.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance data management and analytics.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to data team members, ensuring best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective solutions.
- Oversee the deployment of new data technologies and ensure solutions comply with regulatory standards.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Promote a data-driven culture across the organisation.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- At least 5 years in a Data Architect position backed by a number of years of experience in data engineering, data warhousing, or similar.
- You are able to demonstrate extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.
- Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions on a major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Expert-level knowledge of database technologies, data modelling, and ETL/ELT principles.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, data governance, and security standards.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and guide data-related projects.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical information for diverse audiences.
- Experience working with data tools such as Power BI or similar reporting platforms.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.
- Experience working in the mining or a similar industrial sector.
- Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Spark).
