About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Data Analyst (APS5 equivalent).
This is a long-term contract role from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 with two 12-month extension options, located in Canberra, ACT with hybrid working arrangements(minimum 3 days per week onsite).
As the selected candidate, you will work with stakeholders across the Branch to extract and analyse health data from multiple sources, leverage existing data to produce solutions, and provide accurate advice that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Extract, cleanse and analyse health data from multiple sources; develop and enhance data products, reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Design, implement and support ETL/batch schedules and data warehouse solutions (including job migration, optimisation, scheduling and validation) and provide production support including daily health checks.
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to translate needs into technical specifications; maintain technical/procedural documentation and provide clear advice and issue management.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- 5+ years’ experience as an ETL Developer / Data Analyst with exposure to data analysis, ETL, data cleansing and data migration; strong SQL skills (complex queries) and understanding of data modelling techniques/design.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical specifications; implement and support ETL and batch schedules; experience with Oracle/RDBMS (PL/SQL advantageous); strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, time management, and ability to work with limited supervision in multi-disciplined teams and with diverse stakeholders.
It is desirable if you have:
- Hands-on experience with data profiling, data mapping, data remediation and integration techniques; demonstrated ability to proactively deliver results, drive business change, and provide guidance on development standards/tools.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens who have an existing Baseline security clearance.
