Job Title: Data Analyst (Data Privacy and Compliance)
Duration: Initial 9+ Month Contract (with possibility of extension)
Location: Sydney, NSW (Hybrid 2-3 days onsite / 2 days WFH)
We're looking for an experienced Data Analyst (Data Privacy and Compliance)
to join a major enterprise data program focused on strengthening data visibility, governance, and privacy compliance across complex technology environments. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with modern data governance tooling while helping shape how critical enterprise data is classified, catalogued, and governed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse and profile large enterprise datasets to identify sensitive and privacy-related information, supporting data governance and compliance initiatives.
• Build and maintain the enterprise data catalogue, including metadata ingestion, asset modelling, lineage documentation, and stewardship assignments.
• Apply data classification and sensitivity labelling aligned with the organisation’s information classification framework.
• Develop and maintain governance dashboards and reporting to track catalogue coverage, lineage, classification, and data quality metrics.
• Collaborate with data architects, governance leads, SMEs, and cyber teams to ensure data assets are accurately documented and ready for downstream privacy, retention, and minimisation activities.
Must Have Skills/Experience:
• 5+ Years of Strong Data Analyst experience
• Data Analytics Tools, Data Classification experience
• Experience using Collibra (Data Governance tool) or similar
• Data Privacy Compliance project or related experience
• Ideally with University or Education Domain experience (Government or enterprise environment is acceptable)
