An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to support a large government organisation within a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) function.
You will play a key role in providing expert security advice, uplifting cyber risk capability, and ensuring alignment with recognised security standards and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice aligned to cyber security best practice and frameworks
- Review technical and project documentation using a risk-based GRC approach
- Conduct threat and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and control gaps
- Deliver practical mitigation strategies and security recommendations
- Translate complex technical and business requirements into actionable outcomes
- Collaborate with stakeholders across projects and business units
- Support risk management, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- 5+ years’ cyber security experience, ideally in GRC, architecture, or assurance roles
- Strong knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, ASD ISM, PCI-DSS
- Experience working in large, complex environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to deliver security outcomes across full project lifecycles
- Experience within government or highly regulated sectors
- Exposure to ISMS development and uplift initiatives
- Background in security architecture or enterprise environments
