About the role:
Join a leading government department as a Cyber Security Officer, a key role in protecting our systems and data from evolving cyber threats while supporting secure operations across the department.
You will manage Microsoft Defender technologies, investigate security alerts, and support incident response to maintain strong cyber resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing and supporting Microsoft Defender technologies, including Endpoint, Office 365, Identity, and Cloud Apps.
- Monitor security alerts and investigate routine threats such as phishing and malware.
- Support incident response activities, including evidence collection and escalation.
- Proven experience supporting information security services, especially with Microsoft Defender products.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Office 365, and related security tools.
- Experience with incident management, alert triage, and vulnerability validation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and the ACSC Essential Eight is a plus.
