Cyber Security Lead – IRAP & GRC -
We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Lead to drive IRAP assessment activities and support security accreditation outcomes within a complex enterprise environment.
This role will sit at the centre of cyber governance, architecture, and compliance, working closely with engineering, operations, executive stakeholders, and IRAP assessors to ensure security controls align with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and contractual security obligations.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate cyber security activities across the IRAP assessment lifecycle
• Act as the primary point of contact for IRAP assessors, managing engagement, walkthroughs, and responses to findings
• Translate regulatory and security requirements into clear, defensible ISM control evidence
• Maintain strong knowledge of ISM controls, security architecture, and governance requirements
• Provide real-time risk assessment and remediation coordination during IRAP assessments
• Develop risk-based responses and support residual risk positions aligned with Commonwealth standards
• Ensure governance artefacts, security documentation, and operational practices align to compliance requirements
About You
• Proven experience leading or supporting IRAP assessments
• Strong understanding of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)
• Background in Cyber Security Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
• Ability to translate complex security requirements into practical technical controls and documentation
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical teams, executives, and external assessors
Desirable
• Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
• Background in security architecture, engineering, or security operations
• Experience preparing security accreditation or governance documentation
