About the Role
The Cyber Security Engineer supports and maintains core enterprise security platforms in a BAU environment, helping protect systems and data. This role acts as an escalation point for Security Analysts and supports security operations and cloud risk assessments, requiring strong hands‑on technical skills and the ability to adapt quickly.
Job Responsibilities
- BAU monitoring, support, and troubleshooting of Cisco firewalls, with exposure to Fortinet and Palo Alto
- Security alert monitoring and incident response using Splunk SIEM
- Administration and support of network identity management (Cisco ISE)
- Management of endpoint protection platforms including Symantec and Microsoft Defender
- Vulnerability scanning and remediation reporting using Rapid7 and/or Tenable
- Security support across AWS and Azure cloud environments
- Administration and troubleshooting of Bluecoat proxy
- Escalation and resolution of complex security incidents in collaboration with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams
Required Skills
- Hands‑on operational experience with enterprise security technologies
- Strong experience with firewall operations, SIEM monitoring, endpoint security, and vulnerability management
- Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS and Azure) from a security perspective
- Ability to work effectively in BAU security operations
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Capability to learn new security tools and technologies quickly
