  • Rate ranges from $1000/day to $1200/day Incl super
  • Security Clearance: Must hold a minimum NV1 Australian Government security clearance
  • Work Arrangement: On-site 5 days per week initially, with potential for flexible arrangements thereafter
  • A skilled Configuration Officer role within the Defence industry, responsible for managing complex configuration activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting technical systems across the lifecycle of Defence platforms.
 
Position Description:
  • We are seeking a skilled Configuration Officer to support technical and engineering activities and ensure quality and compliance with appropriate technical delegations commensurate with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
  • The position will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate, and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
  • The Land C4 Program adopts a multi-phase, programmatic submission approach to enable continuous and iterative capability delivery. This is supported by a coordinated and integrated strategy for defining requirements and managing contracting arrangements for future Land C4 systems.
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex technical configuration activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcome, inclusive of planning and executing configuration management frameworks of a system of systems.
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making, and priority setting.
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge and experience to develop and review technical packages.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in teamwork, and motivate and mentor engineering and technical staff.
  • Assess technical packages including scoping, planning, and reviewing of packages and provide recommendations for consideration.
  • Assess technical packages, reports, processes and product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product, and equipment.
 
Highly Desirable
  • A demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of Configuration Management as applied to complex system of systems, hardware, and software systems throughout its lifecycle, as defined by ANSI/EIA-649, MIL-STD-973 or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in Defence ERP (Enterprise Asset Management, Supply Chain Management and OpenText modules).
  • A demonstrated ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence providing detailed technical, operational, professional and procedural advice and support in relation to complex Configuration Management activities.
  • A proven ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally, both in person and using digital platforms.
  • An ability to develop productive relationships with diverse stakeholders as part of a team focus, including the ability to negotiate solutions to complex technical configuration management matters.
  • Initiative and experience to analyse, plan, review and adjust priorities and work activities to meet business outcomes.
